Review of DON'T SAY I DO! WHY WOMEN SHOULD STAY SINGLE, by Orna Gadish

As a book reviewer I often get to chose which books I'd like to receive complimentary to read and review. When DON'T SAY I DO! WHY WOMEN SHOULD STAY SINGLE by Orna Gadish came up for review I quickly grabbed it. As a woman who has been married and divorced four times this book was a huge breath of fresh air.

It's no fun admitting the above about myself, but Orna Gadish hit the nail on the head in this great book as it applied to the why of me getting married, and divorced, so many times. As women we are raised to believe that the traditional road to happiness is ultimately marriage. That's what I thought every time, if I could just get it right. But the fact is, I am a very independent, self-reliant woman and I don't actually want to be married!

This book does not slam marriage, if anything it approves of the failing institution if people are getting into it for the right reasons. Orna Gadish is just giving single women the freedom to chose not to marry, reminding us that times have changed and the old ways are not working for many women today. There are alternatives to saying I DO and all of them are acceptable. No longer does a woman have to sacrifice what she loves to do, or her personal freedom, to meet what is no longer even society's idea of success.

I would recommend that all women, married or single, read this great book!

Review of Bible Stories for Preschoolers

This book was written by Monika Kustra, adapted by Betty Free Swanberg and illustrated by Andrzej Chalecki and was published by Tyndale House Publishers. I was privileged to receive a free copy to review and gave the book to my grandkids, who are 5 and 4. It was so well received! The girls love the book and the illustrations are so beautiful, I was highly impressed by the quality of the book and by the apt content.

Review of A Conversation with God for Women by Marcia Ford

I received this book, Conversations with God for Women by Marcia Ford, to read for free through Book Sneeze. The opinions below are my own.

I couldn't get past the fact that the author spoke in the voice of God. The book is high quality and physically beautiful but off-putting.
