I was lucky enough to receive this book, Bread & Wine: A Love Letter to Life Around the Table with Recipes as a reviewer for Handlebar Publishing. I absolutely loved the book! In fact, I loved it so much that when I finished reading it I gave it to my daughter-in-law.
In the book author Shauna Niequist shares her newest collection of essays on family relationships, friendships, and the meals that bring us together and how God teaches and nourishes us as we nourish the people around us.
As with her previous books, Cold Tangerines and Bittersweet, Shauna Niequist lets her vulnerability show. Her essays from around her table are filled with wit, as she shares touching tales of life experiences shared over a meal. But this book is not fluff by any means, she is very realistic about the troubles life brings as well as the joys, admitting to the demands of trying to be "perfect" and the days when she must choose to "fast rather than feast."
A great gift idea, for sure!

Review of SIX SISTERS' STUFF Cook and Craft Book
As a book reviewer it is seldom that I receive a cookbook to review, so when I opened my mailbox and found the beautiful SIX SISTERS' STUFF, Family Recipes, Fun Crafts, and So Much More! I about went bananas! Literally. This book is filled with great family recipes, fun craft projects, and as the book states, so much more!

This book is nice enough to give as a gift, ya'll, (as Paula Deen would say!) And it is no lie when it says SIX SISTERS, these gals are all six biological sisters. There are nearly 100 easy to follow recipes with images to help you along.

And craft ideas that are cheap and easy to do. I just love this book!
Right now you can register for the 4x4 Dinner Challenge at the Six Sisters website, where families are challenged to eat together 4 times per week for 4 weeks. According to Pew Research, only about half of families eat together only occasionally or never. This is a great way to jump start spring, family guys and gals!
